2021 Edition
70 Favorite Desert Tours in Morocco
The perfect itinerary is essential for desert tours in Morocco to be practical and culturally valuable. Have a look at the kind of destinations that every type of tour option has. If you don’t find something matching your choice, you might as well just select a different city to start your journey.
Marrakech desert tours
Undoubtedly the most demanded tours in Morocco. Marrakech has a strategic geographic position and plenty of international flights to Morocco, making it the perfect hub to travel in Morocco. These excursions ooze a certain exotic feeling since Marrakech is connected to the camel caravans trades arriving from sub-Sahara Africa since its foundation 1000 years ago.
Our private Marrakech desert tours vary, considering the number of days and particular desert destinations. Our Morocco desert tours from Marrakech range from 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, and 7 days (one week tours).
To get to Erg Chebbi or Erg Chigaga dunes, you need to cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tichka pass above 2200 meters. After visiting Ouarzazate province, you can either descend to the Mhamid area or move towards the Merzouga dunes area through the Boumalne-Tinghir Eastern road.
These proposed desert tours in Morocco can be made in two different loops: the southern regions with the 1000 Kasbahs trails, the Dades Valley and Todra gorges, and the Draa Valley; and the northern path connecting the desert to Fes and Beni Mellal before returning to Marrakech. One of the most demanded excursions is the Marrakech to Fes tours.
Fes desert tours
Journeys out of the Spiritual city of Morocco are designed to make you explore the desert through the opposite side of the Marrakech route. Our product managing staff were very creative and did a good job designing this specific Morocco Sahara Desert tour. Apart from the usual programs, desert tours can be of any size, and they can be custom-made, too. But in the market, one of the most requested voyages is also the Fes to Marrakech tours.
Our private Fes desert tours change, considering the number of days and specific desert destinations. Our Morocco desert tours from Fes range from 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, and 7 days (one week tours).
Departing from this city can be handy since many tourists arrive in Morocco flying to Fes and fly out from Marrakech. To arrive at Erg Chebbi dunes, you need to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains thru Azrou, where you will interact with wild monkeys. Before arriving in Merzouga, you will have the chance to enjoy the beauty of Ziz Valley and its millions of palm trees.
These proposed tours in Morocco can be made in two different loops: the southern regions and coming back north on a straight line, or continue West and include Marrakech.
Casablanca desert tours
When specific desert Morocco tours are available from Casablanca, they can be stunningly beautiful and aesthetically appealing.
Departing from Casablanca corresponds almost to the same tours departing from Fes. Both cities are conveniently connected by Morocco’s network of Motorways. Near Meknes, you will turn south in the direction of Azrou to see the wild Barbary monkeys at the Cèdre Gouraud Forest.
Our private Casablanca desert tours differ, considering the number of days and particular desert destinations. Our Morocco desert tours from Casablanca range from 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, and 7 days (one week tours).
These trips can be made on a loop. Visiting Fes, you move on south to the desert, continuing towards Ouarzazate. This trip’s final stage has to be crossing the High Atlas to reach Marrakech before heading back to Casablanca city. Expect snow during the winter months.
Agadir desert tours
Agadir is a famous beach in Morocco used as a starting point to many desert tours in Morocco. Many people decide to visit the dunes after a few days on the beach.
The desert trip through this side of Morocco presents a totally different country. You can use your imagination and create an idyllic vision. Conceive dragon trees, fortified granaries, arid mountains, kasbahs, argan trees, and prickly pear cactus species. Interestingly, the Anti Atlas Mountains resemble Yemeni landscapes.
Our private Agadir desert tours vary, taking into consideration the number of days and specific desert destinations. Our Morocco desert tours from Agadir range from 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, and 7 days (one week tours).
These proposed Morocco desert trips can be made in two different loops: the southern regions with the Tafraoute routes, the Draa Valley, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, and back to Agadir; and the northern path connecting the desert to Marrakech before returning to the Atlantic Coast.
Ouarzazate desert tours
For those landing in the city nicknamed the “door of the desert,” the dunes are one or two days’ distance away. You may choose any desert tour Morocco option in the market out of Ouarzazate Province. All are amazing.
You can find different Morocco private desert tours, either going south to Mhamid or east towards Merzouga. Either way, you will visit unique places but taking into account the differences. These tours have a timeless classic appeal of being a direct and unpretentious way of seeing the Sahara Desert in Morocco.
Our private Ouarzazate desert tours vary, taking into consideration the number of days and specific desert destinations. Our Morocco desert tours from Ouarzazate range from 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, and 7 days (one week tours).
These proposed Morocco tour packages can be made in two different loops: the southern regions with the 1000 Kasbahs trails and the Draa Valley; and the northern path connecting the desert to Fes and Marrakech before returning to Ouarzazate.
How to choose a desert tour in Morocco
Every desert tour in Morocco can be easily handled by the vast majority of travelers.
However, based on destinations and durability, some Moroccan desert trips will be more engaging than others.
Usually, desert tours take you to the desert, but they can take you to other destinations on the way.
You should look for the specific quantity of days you need for your holidays in Morocco.
Consider itineraries with places that you particularly might like more such as valleys, historic cities, or oases.
Ultimately, trips with more days to explore the desert regions can be enriching if you want to understand the Moroccan people from the Sahara and explore the local culture.
